Srinagar, June 16: Police on Thursday produced a challan in a local court against an accused for ‘attempt to rape’.
The accused Hilal Ahmad Machloo was produced in the court of 3rd Additional Munsif 1st class here.
Earlier the bail application of Machloo of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina was rejected twice by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar ,Yashpal Bourney on the grounds that the bail given in the case of ‘heinous nature’ would traumatize and disrespect the victims.
The incident took place on the evening of May 2 in the Hamdaniya Colony Bemina here when the victims, who study in class 4th and 2nd respectively, had gone to take tuitions from Hilal’s sister.
Subsequently, the family members of the victims filed a complaint with the Police. A case was registered under sections 376/511 (commission of offence of rape or attempt to rape) RPC at Parimpora Police Station.
