Minister orders Harwan encroachment demolition

Srinagar, June 17: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla accompanied by Minister of State for Home Nasir Sogami on Friday had a surprise visit of the site at Mufti Bagh, Harvan where 13 kanals of land have been allegedly encroached by a local inhabitant, an official handout said.
The Minister directed removal of concrete wall on the spot, which had been laid around the grabbed land.
He also directed Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar to install a sign board on the site titling the patch as government land.
Sogami directed the concerned police authorities to lodge FIR against the encroacher and initiate action under law.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo and officers of LAWDA, Revenue and police officers accompanied the Minister.
The LAWDA demolition squad was led by Enforcement Officer Khurshid Ahmed Mir.
