Peaceful means

This refers to the news “Controversy over Yatra ends.” It is good that the State Government and the Baba Amarnath Yatri Niyas have reached a consensus on the issue which could have caused unnecessary animosity between the two agencies. In the process, it is the people of Kashmir who have to bear the brunt of all this animosity. Things can be achieved through peaceful means rather than taking extreme steps. Kashmiris have always welcomed yatris and shall continue to do so. It is only a few communal elements who want to create a wedge between different communities. It is better if such people are defeated in their designs. That would really mean a strong example of communal harmony and brotherhood which Kashmir is known for the world over. We must not allow anyone to call the shots and take people for granted.
