Rahim Greens comes forward to sponsor JKFA activities

Srinagar, June 1: Rahim Greens, a corporate house,  has come forward to sponsor the J&K Football Association (JKFA) activities.
 “We are happy that corporate house like Rahim Greens has come forward to sponsor the annual calendar activities of the Association” said JKFA President Zamir Thakur while interacting with media at Polo Ground here on Wednesday.
 “From now on the super league football event in which top teams of state like JK bank, Police, Forest participate would be known as Rahim Greens Super League. The A and B-division leagues would also be known by same name” he said.
 He said it is encouraging sign that Rahim Greens lead by its owner Abdul Hamid have come forward to sponsor the event.
 “Rahim Greens is a well established name in corporate sector of the State and its owner Abdul Hamid has shown great interest in the promotion of the football in State. Recently it adopted the known club of the Valley and now with this step they have shown how serious they are in developing the football in Valley” Thakur said.
 He said that the annual activities of the association will start from Thursday at different venues of Valley.
 “Our activities will kick start from Thursday at different venues of Valley. The CRPF tournament will be held from June 5 in which B-division teams would be participating while Police tournament is starting from June 20. The other events will also be held at various fields of city” he said.
 Zamir said that for the development of grass root level football the Association is planning to set up 8-football academies across state and for that a three-member committee has already been formed. The committee includes former general secretary of the association Bashir Ahmad Malik, association Treasurer Fayaz Ahmad Sofi and former Indian football team skipper Abdul Majeed Kakroo.
 “The committee has been formed in order to monitor the academies that will be launched shortly. The committee will also look after the requirements and the developmental things of the academies” JKFA spokesperson said.
 Among others present on the occasion were Rahim Greens owner Abdul Hamid, Bashir Malik, JKSSC joint secretary and JKFA resident secretary Professor Bashir Ahmad and other officials.
