End unholy alliance: Er Rasheed to NC
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar: June 19: Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) Langate Er Rasheed on Sunday expressed surprise over the war of words between Congress and National Conference (NC).
Referring to the statement of senior NC leader Mustafa Kamal in which he had termed
Congress men as “gutter worms,” Er Rasheed said, “It was surprising to see a senior leader ridiculing and denigrating the very same party with whose support his party is running the government.”
“If Mustafa Kamal believes Congress people are gutter worms then why his party is in alliance with such creatures which it deems unclean?” he asked.
He said NC had no moral ground to continue to enjoy Congress support, and they should quit this self-proclaimed “unholy alliance.” “If NC doesn’t do so then Kashmiris have reasons to believe that this party can make any compromise with anybody for the sake of power,” he said.
The MLA Langate said that at least basic moral and ethical values should be adhered to in politics. “Both ruling and opposition parties in JK claim to be well-wishers of people, but time and again they have proved themselves bitter political opportunists who cash in on the miseries of the people,” he said.
“People of the state are passing through worst kind of physical and emotional traumas, and this situation cannot be changed unless those who claim to be representatives of people work with honesty and sincerity,” he added.
