Owners say govt step ‘unjustified’
Sealing of diagnostic centres
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 20: The owners of many diagnostic centres, which were sealed off by the authorities on the charges of flouting norms, have termed the step as “unjustified.”
According to them, more than 100 clinics, which had been pursuing their registration case with the Health Department since 2009, were also sealed off by the authorities recently.
“From the last two years, the forms submitted by the centre owners for registration are gathering dust in the office. No inspection was conducted by the authorities to grant licenses,” the clinic owners said.
They said it was imperative for the authorities to inspect the clinic or diagnostic centre within 90 days following the submission of application. “If the concerned officials didn’t inspect the laboratory within the prescribed time, it is their fault. The Government action against these clinics is unwarranted as they were sealed off without any prior notice,” another clinic owner said.
“We were asked by the concerned officials to carry out the work without licenses, even though we insisted for it,” the owners said and sought the intervention of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in this regard.
