COO NIIT Technology interacts with KU students

Srinagar, June 21: Kashmir University’s Department of Business and Financial Studies (DBFS) today organized a guest lecture for its students.  Chief Operating Officer, NIIT Technologies, Vijay Kumar Thadani, who is also Chairman, Confederation of Indian Industries (Northern Region) was the guest. Thadani while interacting with M Com and MFC students of the department briefed them about NIIT Technology and CII interventions in J&K.  Head, Department of Business and Financial Studies, Prof Nazir A Nazir said the department had been inviting noted personalities from industry across India “so as to enhance the skills of our students through such interactions.”  In his speech Thadani said the finance and commerce professionals never remain jobless even if it is recession.  He said, “The finance professionals are needed by companies and governments even when there is recession for their expert suggestions to come out of the downturn.” Thadani said the role of the government in the business is reducing and the role of industry is increasing that too particularly in the service sector. He said the service sector contributes over 60 per cent to the GDP of India. “The government has to be more into regulations and less into business,” he added.
