Pvt entrepreneurship vital for tourism promotion: Jora

Kangan, June 25: Saying that tourism in Jammu and Kashmir as vast employment avenues, the Tourism Minister, Nawang Rigzin Jora said that participation of private investors under the sector is not only pivotal for facilitating tourists but would increase employment to local youth.
Speaking after inaugurating a three-storey hotel complex Kulan-Kangan, Jora said such initiatives taken by private entrepreneurs would also ease tourist rush in government hotels.
Underlining the significance of entrepreneurship, Jora said that this sector promises greater future to state’s youth. “Government alone cannot provide jobs to huge number of un-employed person. The tourism sector is the major one with lot of promise for the young generation”, he said.
On the occasion, the Forest and Environment Minister, Mian Altaf Ahmad said that this area has a great potential of tourism activities and government has taken various steps to promote these so that a large chunk of tourists attracted to the visit of scenic and adventure spots.
He said his ministry would raise plantation on the banks of Sindh River from Wayal bridge to Sonamarg for its beautification during next plantation.
