Better facilities

This refers to the tourism rush to Kashmir these days. It is a sorry state of affairs that the state government is not able to host the tourists properly. I was recently on the Boulevard Road where some tourists were asking for dustbins. All along the road, hardly a dustbin or two have been put for use by people. This is an irresponsible attitude. Same is the case with the management of traffic on t he road, especially in the evenings. There is not a single day when the entire Boulevard Road doesn’t witness huge traffic jam. This is affecting lives of citizens of Kashmir. Big buses are allowed to park on road which causes the jam ultimately. There is streamlining of traffic required on the route. At the same time, proper placement of vendors is required. Unless we take basic steps, we won’t be able to receive hi-end tourists. There has to be a proper sanitation in places like Gulmarg and Pahalgam, which as on date is missing. People should also behave responsibly while visiting a place. This time school picnics are a regular affair. So the authorities need to gear up for better service at the tourist destinations.
