Govt enhances basic price of seed cocoon

Srinagar, June 27: According to the Director, Sericulture Development Department, J & K, Srinagar, the Government of J&K State has accorded sanction to the enhancement of basic price of Silkworm Seed Cocoon from Rs 100/= per Kg (green) to Rs 150/= per Kg (green). This decision besides helping the seed cocoon growers of the State to improve their productivity and profitability will also help the Silkworm Seed Organization of the Department of Sericulture to improve and enhance the production of quality Silkworm Seed, the back bone of Sericulture Industry.
