Panchayat Polls 65% polling in Phase-17
Jammu, June 27: The 17th phase of Panchayat Election-2011 concluded peacefully on Monday with large number of people exercising their right of franchise to elect 12 Sarpanchs and 77 Panchs in 2-CD blocks of the state, an official spokesman said.
“The election was held in 9 Sarpanch and 58 Panch constituencies in CD block Zanskar district Kargil and 3 Sarpanch and 19 Panch constituencies in CD block Lungnak district Kargil. The poll percentage remained 65 % in Zanskar and 67.05 % in Lungnak with an overall percentage of 65.35 % in the twin blocks,” the spokesman added.
