BOAT CAPSIZE CASE

Ganderbal, June 28: Police on Tuesday said that it arrested two persons in connection with the death of two women, who drowned in Nallah Sindh after their rafting boat capsized at Sonamarg last week. 
 Police said following investigations, two instructors of a Srinagar-based rafting company were arrested  in Ganderbal for allegedly not providing safety equipments including life saving jackets and helmets to the women.
 “The instructors had boarded 12 persons against the capacity of just 6 which resulted in the boat capsize leading to the death of the female duo,” police said.
 Police identified the arrested instructors as Ram Singh and Mandeep Singh. Police has registered an FIR No. 85/2011 under section 304-A.
