Yasin Malik stays away
‘They are insincere’
Srinagar, June 31: The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Muhammad Yasin Malik
stayed away from meeting the Kashmir committee saying, “They have always played a role detrimental to interests of Kashmiris.”
“They are not sincere,” Malik told Greater Kashmir on Thursday.
“When in 2001 during my illness I was admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi, under custody, Jethmalani and Madhu Kishwar called on me and intimidated me to participate in elections. After I refused to what Jethmalai said is all history.”
“In 2010, the Committee member Madhu Kishwar organized conference in New Delhi in which several Kashmiris including myself participated. The vested interests working in the name of Kashmiri Pandits had already been gathered in the Conference who tried their utmost to stop me from speaking and meted out a humiliating treatment to me. Madhu Kishwar, instead of expressing regrets and tendering an apology to me, wrote an article against me in a newspaper dubbing me as a communalist.”
Malik said although JKLF is desirous of a political solution to the Kashmir issue and has always welcomed dialogue. The decision to not to meet the Committee was based on certain facts which include that it (Committee ) led to disintegration of the undivided Hurriyat Conference. "The united Hurriyat Conference was in the best interest of Kashmiris and our cause. Kashmir Committee played a crucial role in its disintegration," he claimed.
