2 killed, 7 hurt in road mishaps

Awantipora, June 3: Two persons were killed and five others injured in a road accident at Lethpora on Srinagar-Jammu highway Thursday night.
Police said a vehicle (JK10-2643) on way from Jammu to Ladakh collided with truck number (JK0G2-3685) killing 23-year-old Rigzin Dolkar daughter of Sonam Tandon of Tiger Nobra and 25-year-old Padma Rigzin son of Tsering of Darbugh Leh on the spot.
Six persons were also injured in the accident, police said adding the wounded had been identified as driver Tashi Angdus, Angdas Dorgee, Ladol Libzing, Muhammad Arif, Huma Dolkar and Satarjin.
SDPO Awantipora, Feroz Qadri told Greater Kashmir the truck driver fled from the spot and police had launched a manhunt to nab him. He said the truck had been seized.
Meanwhile, a truck (JK02AA-7903) hit a load carrier (JK03A-5307) at Nundresh Colony Batamaloo here injuring Nadeem Ahmad Chiloo son of Abdul Rashid of Lethpora, police said.
BODY RECOVERED
Police in Islamabad (Anantnag) has recovered the body of Arif Rashid Bhat son of Abdul Rashid of Rainawari, Srinagar from Nallah Lidder at Saller Srigufwara.
According to police, Arif drowned in Lidder on May 23. The body of the deceased has been handed to legal heirs for last rites, police added.
POONCH BOY HANDED OVER TO POLICE
A 15-year-old boy, Zakir Khatana son of Musa Khatana of Nowgam Poonch was handed over to Police Station Srigufwara, Islamabad (Anantnag) by locals.
