Imposing restrictions

This refers to imposition of Section 144 in Srinagar for a period of two months. I agree with Advocate Zaffar Shah that the state government has misused this section in the name of security concerns. By taking such measures, the government is just trying to provoke the peace-loving people of Kashmir. For the past few months, the situation in the valley has considerably improved. There are no protests or stone-pelting incidents. No rallies are taken out by the separatists. So what is the fun of imposing such restrictions to give a bad impression to the visitors? The tourist season in Kashmir is thankfully at its peak in Kashmir. But the state is either coming up infiltration theory or putting restriction on assembly of people. This is highly condemnable on part of the government which is talking high of promoting tourism. The government must not take any step which can add fuel to the fire in Kashmir. It must make sure that peace prevails and make constant efforts in this direction.
