JK exports paddy seed to Karnataka

Jammu, June 5: J&K government has exported 90 quintal improved quality Foundation Seed of paddy (Jaya variety) to Karnataka on latter’s request.  Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal Saturday flagged off a vehicle carrying the consignment of 90 quintal of the Foundation Seed.  The seed has been produced by the Department of Agriculture, Jammu at the Seed Multiplication Farm, Chinore.
 Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kotwal appreciated the department of Agriculture, Jammu for developing the capability to export quality seed of Paddy for the first time from the State.
 He said that   it was a landmark achievement in the development of Agriculture Sector in the State.  Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture Jammu, Ajay Khajuria, disclosed that the achievement was an outcome of the hard work of Agriculture department put in to make its  Seed Multiplication Farms viable.
