Kabaddi Market shopkeepers seek rehabilitation
Srinagar, June 5: A day after the Cheap Market shopkeepers claimed that their rehabilitation was pending for the past around two decades, the Anjuman-e-Behboodi Taajiraan Kabadi Market (ABTKM) Saturday said they too have been waiting for the rehabilitation at the same site near Jehangir Chowk for the past around three decades.
The ABTKM President Bashir Ahmed Munshi claimed that the Kabadi Market traders have been awaiting rehabilitation since 1972.
“We are a total of 54 beneficiaries who have been awaiting rehabilitation.
He said during a “physical verification” the authorities have found that 39 beneficiaries of the Kabadi market have to be rehabilitated along with the Cheap Market “genuine beneficiaries.”
“The remaining 15 beneficiaries of the Kabadi market have to be rehabilitated afterwards,” Munshi added.
He said that dislocated shopkeepers from both the markets had to be rehabilitated at the site.
Pertinently over a hundred shops are ready for the “hand over” at the same site.
