Hurriyat (G) condemns Asiya’s continued detention
Srinagar June 6: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Monday condemned the continued detention of Dukhtaran Millat chief Asiya Andrabi, saying “lawlessness” had reached an extreme level in Kashmir.
“It’s a shame that the government is scared of a woman and is defying court orders to release her,” a spokesman of the amalgam said in statement.
“The High Court has quashed Asiya’s Public Safety Act (PSA) twice in the last 10-months but not only have the police refused to release her, she hasn’t been even presented before the court,” the spokesman said.
