Panchayati Raj system to be strengthened: Saifuddin Soz
Srinagar, June 6: The State Congress president Prof Saifuddin Soz on Monday said the Panchayati Raj System would be further strengthened to enable Panchayats to solve problems of the people.
“It was late Rajiv Gandhi who wanted to empower Panchayats and Municipalities, so that democracy becomes vibrant at the village levels also. It is the duty of Sarpanchs and Panchs to solve the problems of people to the best of their ability,” he said, addressing the newly elected Sarpanchs and Panchs in Baramulla and Kupwara today.
