Sad! You haven’t heard what Socrates said to his disciples, that day. Why blame that old man? Men are, it seems, made in that rusty cast ever since Adam’s day. Yield for some, say 05% and for remaining + 95% time the super virus of temptation is put to bed. Sagacious mantra! na?
    Hay! Stop confusing me, Mr. aXeYZee( what ever that be)…first came temptation, then FALL ( from the bedside to Pokhr, Talaab, Demb, Maer, Vethe or Sadree  baeth-is peth)...that is all molvi said, another voice jerking- forward, was heard, but Mr. Chatterbox continued.   
   Yaar, the wise man- Sakraat / Socrates, thought if the adamant silly seductress wants him on his haunches, no harm in becoming a ghoda ghoda for few minutes. Rest of the day would be his. Naïve disciples who surprised him may not have bought his advice: “listen Bachaas … if women can do this to ME, tum kis khait ki mooli ho”… might have harbored doubts, questioned his double speaks- “kathni & kerni mai anter”, so what. It’s their problem. Socrates was free for the rest of time; to do what he was best cut out for…opined another.. …while, putting fingers through his tangled (- I didn’t say mangled, uncouth! long) tresses.
   Didn’t Einstein reply with a broad smile, stretched from right fore- tress to that dangling on his wrong side: ‘Pretty girl my only worry is, what if these prankish spiral strands of ours make the child inherit my looks & your brain’. Platonic relation, pampering attention, though pretty time consuming too, is better than letting your grey matter dwindle in successive steps; interjected another.
    Some even say, akin to a rejuvenating rendezvous with soothing nature during holidays or daily walks or enjoying wordless music orchestrated by maestros, mild flirtation works as a good booster when brain begins to yawn after hard mental work. Personally I have no idea. (..wl kil u if u say get 1).
     No, I am not interested in Maggi, Indu, Haseena, Jaya, Maya, Mumta, or Barkha, Kiran, Arundati, Kalpana, or Bebo, Kat or Maddona, Shakira or even the Titanic- sinker- Kate – as a khi-ts-e molvi once assured that I will meet them all one day in the reserved abode, situated on God’s wrong side but more extra/ ordinary ones, do soothe my nerves. …- you get it, na?        
    Just 2-3 years older but a noble soul I have known for years-still holding forte in to Personal- Staff of a complimenting noble souled mantri (- a rare one in the self centric system of ours) , narrating humorously an anecdotal, once  told me: you know that unwed middle aged tailor of Pampore?....Who, one windy day looked with smiling eyes towards other Bollywood  posters of females- who were steadfastly sticking to the mud-plastered-walls of his shop but grinned seeing the dislodged one (- fallen from the assigned place on shop’s wall,  to the threshold/ entrance (vanepend), stared disapprovingly; without baiting his eye lids, but ultimately said to the poster lady: Maaluen chhuye ga-ts-un, Voth  nayr balai daffa, and returned to his sewing job in hand. Voice of local boys Muneer & Raah seems to echo, as I was looking to the TV - well covered , with its plug, securely, lying on floor, unconnected,- presenting flash forward queer Time Warp: ----yaad chhuya, yaaad chhuya … Baywafa heund  su dagga chhuya?.
     Employing humour I seriously want to draw attention to the beauty of three clichés: ‘Better half’; Ardnerishwer, Muqlib ul qaloob zoujeha as my pious intention is to talk about common women- folk, who since ages are believed to be cut for home & hearth, only, even in present time by the ‘mike- Tyson-ing’ pulpit speakers. Even those men who themselves  work as dish washers, laundry men, sweepers or chefs in hotels consider doing these things at home hard hitting to their male ego and the traditional role & rule. Kya keejiye bhai collective consciousness of eons ko.
    Ya, Ya, a gay-like voice was saying: ‘managing a tourist lodge is okay for them but for managing their home, thaawtay hain kallas peth kein.
     Tell me, when baby cries during night or calls for diaper change, doesn’t father remain generally unmoved; instead he wakes up his tired/ sick wife in the middle of night. Bum cleaning? Chee! No way. 
    Exasperated by shouldering the taxing job of washing clothes debni seith; man made washing machine, unnerved by the lijje manz rannene seith .. lobur te odderi zinne seith daanus peth; man made electric rice cooker & gas stove , baane  sornavith, mal koend  kerith tang aaav;  he made dish washing machine; tung yith dohai kangri naar kerith;  man made electric blankets, gas lit heating stoves & hammam vagairah vagairah. A “Diary Narrates” will be offered to you next time, dear reader, as experimental short story.
       Men never admit but it is true, working ladies have to work in home as well in their workplace – be it office, agricultural field, bakery shop, fish market, name any place, they are there; shouldering double load, in ungrateful environ; often proving better than their male counterparts. See girl students excelling while boys fool around on John’s bikes. Now a day in Srinagar the number of female drivers is on the rise and if Traffic Police officers are to be believed, females are proving, better even on wheels. Haven’t you heard; “Behind every successful man… better women, better HR manager, better planner….”.  Better assess what they will achieve in all fields when really empowered.
