Slathia reviews performance of SICOP

Srinagar, June 8: A high level officers meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia, to review the performance of SICOP during last fiscal and discuss implementation of plan outlay earmarked for current fiscal.
The minister fixed Rs 4 crore target of profit to the SICOP management, the Minister asked them to accelerate the pace of work of the Corporation and ensure the increase in profit during current fiscal.
The Minister said the SICOP over a period of time has played a pivotal role in developing small scale sector in J&K State on sustained basis and has contributed significantly to promote and operate schemes as per the State policy for dispersal of the small scale industries in a manner conducive to the balanced development in all the regions of State.
Appreciating the services of officers of SICOP in earning name among Corporations, the Minister said that several initiatives of Government have been translated into action by encouraging small scale entrepreneurs in setting up their industrial units.
However, Slathia warned the erring officials of dire consequences if they fail to achieve the targets in extending the benefit of various schemes related to setting up of industrial units.
