2 Cops Hurt In Batmaloo Blast
Srinagar, Feb 28: Unidentified persons hurled a grenade on policemen near Fire Services Chowk at Batmaloo here this evening.
As per initial reports two policemen and a civilian were injured. The identity of the injured civilian has been ascertained as Showket Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Hassan Khan of Balgarden, Srinagar, whose condition is said to be serious, a police spokesman said.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead a shopkeeper in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday, police said.
A police spokesman said the gunmen barged into the shop of Nazir Ahmad at Kreeri, 31 kms from here, and resorted to indiscriminate firing injuring him critically. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed.
Meanwhile, a boy Rameez Ahmad Tantray son of Abdul Gaffar Tantray of Lolpora Kunzar was injured when an explosive device he was fiddling with went off this afternoon, police said, adding the boy was admitted in the Bone and Joints Hospital Srinagar for treatment.
