Banks advance Rs 32 cr under in Bandipora

Bandipora, Mar 9: Various banks operating here have advanced Rs 32 crore till September end for setting up 1719 income generating in the district. The total credit action plan for the district was fixed at Rs 68.92 crore.
This was revealed at a meeting of the District Level Consultative Committee held under the chairmanship of Additional District Developmental Commossioner, Bandipora Ghulam Muhhmad Barkaboo here today.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of various financial institutions like NABARD, RBI, SBI and district officers.
The meeting was informed that Rs 7.5 crore have been advanced to agriculture sector, Rs 15 crore to non-farm services, Rs 9.50 crore for establishing income generating units in the district.
The meeting was informed that under government sponsored schemes Rs 1.88 crore were advanced for setting up of 23 units in the district. 390 income generating units are being established in the district, ADDC said.
ADDC stressed upon the sponsoring agencies and banks to expand their reach to the lower strata of the society by speeding up the process of flow of credit and make the loaning procedures simple and hassle free.
He assured the house all the possible help from his office in making the government sponsored schemes and financial institutions in the district a success.
