Get serious
This refers to the news ‘Hope separatists join talks: Manmohan.” It is indeed sad to observe that New Delhi is not serious about the dialogue process with separatist leaders in Kashmir. So far none of the demands of either Mirwaiz Umar Farooq or Syed Ali Geelani has been accepted. Mirwaiz has put forth his four point proposal before New Delhi while Geelani has also given his five point formula. But New Delhi’s stubbornness is affecting the resolution of Kashmir issue. If New Delhi expects Hurriyat to come on table, then it must have a big heart and accept some basic demands from the separatist leaders including revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act. There has been a lot of debate going on about demiliterization, but so far not a single solider or paramilitary personnel has been pulled out from the Valley. New Delhi must get serous with regard to resolution of Kashmir issue, which is only devouring innocent lives every year. The conflict must end in the interest of the people, who have seen worst of the times in the past many years.
