JKLF to stage candle-light dharna
Srinagar, Mar 10: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) is organizing a silent candle-light protest on Friday evening at Madina Chowk, Gaw Kadal, here to protest against the alleged “arrest spree” and government’s failure to register FIRs in 117 killings that took place last year.
Besides Front leaders and activists, the family members of arrested youth and martyrs, and human rights activists would also participate in the sit-in.
Meanwhile, the JKLF spokesman condemned the continued detention of Ghulam Nabi Kashmiri, Siraj-ud-Din Dawood and Meraj-ud-Din Chini.
He expressed serious concern over the “miserable plight” of the incarcerated chairman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Bilal Ahmad Sidiqui.
The spokesman also condemned the continued detention of Kashmir Bar Association (KBA) president Mian Qayoom and the KBA general secretary advocate G N Shaheen.
