Nayeem pays tributes to K H Khurshid
Srinagar: Senior resistance leader and National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan has paid rich tributes to prominent Kashmiri leader, K H Khurshid on his 23rd death anniversary.
Khurshid was the former president of Pakistan Administered Kashmir and private secretary to late Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He died in a road accident on March 11, 1988, while travelling in a public transport vehicle as an ordinary passenger.
In a statement, NF said, “Khurshid was 20-years-old when Jinnah anticipated his abilities during a visit to Srinagar in 1944 and chose him as his private secretary, a position he held till the death of the founder of Pakistan. Quaid-e-Azam once said, Pakistan was made by him, his private secretary and his typewriter. On May 1, 1959, Khurshid was appointed as president of Pakistan administered Kashmir. Later in 1961, Khurshid conducted the first ever election in PaK and also won the presidential polls.”
Addressing party workers here, Nayeem said, “Khurshid had a vision to lead and had selected his goals once for all. He was an emblem of truthfulness, honesty and merit. The best way to pay tribute to this great leader is to benefit from his teachings and principles. He was a guiding force in the freedom movement and his contribution to the ongoing movement is unforgettable.”
Nayeem said, “A person who had remained very close to Jinnah and had held the highest office of PaK for five years, died in such a condition that he did not own any property anywhere and was in possession of just Rs 37 at the time of his death”.
