From war in Libya to horror in Delhi

History is replete with stories of war. I got a chance to witness the history in making. People, product and process—all brought to a state of halt and chaos. Notwithstanding the disintegration of Libya, I left the place on March 6, 2011. I have no words to express the gratitude I owe to the Indian Embassy in Libya. A small group of people with hearts large enough to accommodate the pain of thousands of Indians stranded there. We reached Delhi without paying a single penny.  At Delhi we were warmly received by the respective state authorities. I was accompanied by my friends from Chennai and other states. In no time all of them were given free air tickets to continue the rest of the journey. The cost was paid by respective state authorities. In my case, it was a group of 4 to 5 persons from J&K Guest House, Delhi representing the State. The thought of Guest House swelled my chest with pride. I felt as if I was an honorable state guest. But Alas!! The things that followed would justify that the facilities they had to offer were pathetic. We were taken to the Guest House. I was so tired that I could hardly move my limbs. Had I known that my poor wretched body would be made to rest in a dormitory I would have out and out declined their offer. There was no shortage of rooms there at that time. I was dying to fresh myself. Oops! It was a torture to use a yellow stained toilet. It is a pity that someone who has left a war zone gets a callous treatment back home. I woke up to find myself caged in the vicinity of the dormitory. Although I was in India yet far from my home. Not to speak of a free ticket they did not even provide a cab to drop me at airport. But for my poor limbs I would have definitely done a  Raghda –Raghda .
