SI HELD FOR FIRING ON WIFE

Srinagar, Mar 14: Police has arrested a sub-inspector working with J&K Auxiliary Police for allegedly firing at his wife at PDC Quarters Kangan on Sunday night.
Police said, the SI Me’raj-ud-Din Baba of Tangchater Kangan allegedly fired upon his wife Nayeema with his service pistol, adding Nayeema was critically wounded and had been shifted to SKIMS, Soura.
Me’raj-ud-Din has been arrested and pistol seized, police added.

MAN KILLED, 18 HURT IN MISHAPS
A man was killed and 18 others including an army brigadier injured in separate accidents across the Valley.
One person was killed and 11 others wounded when the vehicle (JK13B-1695) they were travelling in collided with a tree at Sadev Shopian, police said adding the deceased had been identified as Bilal Ahmad Hajam son of Abdullah Hajam of Sadev.
A brigadier and three soldiers of 1st Sector Rashtriya Rifles were wounded when they vehicle (11B107763M) they were travelling in collided with another vehicle (JK03B-9158) at Chandhara Pampore, police said and identified the injured as Brigadier Narender Singh, Lance Naik Sanjay Kumar, Sepoy Molibhiya and Sepoy Ruka Bahadur.
A truck collided with a car (DL2CL-6313) at Nusoo Badergund Qazigund injuring two persons, police added.
A car (JK01-6554) hit and injured Zooni wife of Ali Muhammad Mir of Beerwah, Budgam near Magam, police added.

1 DIES IN SRINAGAR
A man died after he fell from a house at Rawalpora here. The deceased has been identified as Beer Singh son of Kherak Singh of Doda.
