'Army bridge serves 50,000 people'

Srinagar: To improve relations with people, Army has constructed a foot bridge across a stream in Kupwara benefitting about 50,000 people, a defence spokesman said. The bridge over Mawar stream, was made by the Naugam Garrison of the Army as part of its Operation Goodwill, he said. He said the villagers told the Army about the need for a bridge during an interaction on February 27.The bridge constructed in three days, with help from the local community, connects villages Khuddi, Yahama and Sanzipora in the district.
