Srinagar, Mar 17: The Special Investigation Team of police probing the mutli-crore rupees sugar scam on Thursday quizzed Joint Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department, while the Director CAPD and Area Manager of Food Corporation of India did not turn up for questioning.
Informed sources told Greater Kashmir that Superintendent of Police, South Srinagar, Sujeet Kumar questioned Joint Director of CAPD at his office this afternoon.
They said later a questionnaire about details of loading and unloading of sugar by the department was handed over to him.
“He was asked to fill it on Monday before SIT. The questions range from procedure of loading and unloading to ways of transportation of sugar from FCI Jammu to other districts,” they said.
However, the Director CAPD and Area Manager FCI who were also served notices under section 160 CrPC did not appear before the police.
Meanwhile, the FCI’s Area Manager Srinagar has been transferred. With FCI officials coming under scanner, the central department replaced its Area Manager Srinagar, Asgar Ali, with Tilak Raj Gupta.
