London/Lahore, Mar 17: Former Pakistan Premier and opposition PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has undergone a heart surgery in London after being admitted to hospital with chest pain.
Two stents were inserted during the surgery yesterday and Sharif is out of danger, Pakistan's Punjab government spokesman Saeed Elahi told PTI in Lahore.
Doctors in London reportedly detected the 64-year-old Sharif's heart problem while he was undergoing a check-up at the central London hospital, where doctors decided to keep him for further observation.
