Follow teachings of Hazrat Peer (RA): Malik to people
Srinagar, Mar 18: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chairman, Muhammad Yaseen Malik has called upon the Muslims to follow the teachings of Peeran-i-Peer Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) and his likes in letter and spirit to achieve success in this world and hereafter.
Malik was addressing devotees at Friday meeting at Dargah Gousia, Sariabala, here. He said, “We have given upon to pursue the path of our ancestors who had earned the pleasure and goodwill of Allah by devoting themselves to the teachings of holy Quran and Sunnah. They would always spend their life in pursuit of spiritual enlightenment rather than material benefits. We are in race of material pursuits as a result we are deprived of spiritual enlightenment and contentment of mid and soul.”
Regarding ongoing freedom struggle, Malik, according to Front statement, said Kashmiris were the embodiment of sacrifices. “Lakhs of Kashmiris have so far offered sacrifices of their life and property for achieving the goal of independent Kashmir and they will continue their peaceful struggle till the objective is completely realized. We will surely achieve victory and Kashmir issue will soon be resolved in accordance to our wishes and aspirations,” he said.
Malik alleged that there seemed no end to the arrests of political leaders, students and political workers. “The people, from 14-year-old teenager to 80 year-old-man, are detained under public safety Act. The condition of detainees in jails is pathetic,” he said.
