PDP has one point agenda: Minister
SUMIT HAKHOO
Jammu, Mar 1: Accusing the Peoples Democratic Party of playing the emotional card, senior National Conference leader and Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ali Muhammad Sagar on Tuesday said that the opposition party does not want to miss even a single opportunity to target the government and the Chief Minister.
Talking to reporters soon after the uproar over the PDP’s adjournment motion, the minister said “while some people are fighting for Azadi’, some for bringing autonomy to resolve the Kashmir issue, PDP has made its one point agenda to target the CM and his policies”.
Countering the charges of PDP that government was gagging the voice of the opposition, he termed the opposition attitude as ‘irresponsible” while accusing its leadership of violating the norms laid for the conduct of question hour in the Assembly.
“It’s very unfortunate that during the Business Advisory meeting which was attended by PDP leader Abdul Rehman Veeri, it was agreed upon by all political parties not to disrupt question hour and allow the proper projection of the public issues, but they (PDP) leaders have acted contrary to what was agreed upon”, he said.
Justifying the rejection of the adjournment motion, he said the PDP has acted in most irresponsible way which was aptly countered by the Speaker.
When asked about the Mehbooba’s allegation that Speaker is acting like Gaddafi, Minister said, “No comments over the issue, I don’t want to become part in this blame-game”.
