4 farmers’ clubs launched

Kupwara, Mar 20: The J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) organised an awareness camp at Wavoora block in Lolab here.
The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara was chief guest while the Chairman JKGB, District Manager JKGB, Area Manager Kupwara, DGM Nabard, officials, officers of different departments of the block were present on the function.
Earlier, the DDC Kupwara inaugurated four Farmers Clubs namely Faiz-e-Aaam farmers club Krousan, Doost Farmers club Takipora, Shah Qalandar farmers Club Wavoora and Shah Jaffar farmers club Gogal. With these farmers clubs, the total number of clubs now has raised to eight in the district.
On this occasion, the DDC Kupwara impressed upon the people to come forward and avail the benefits of the schemes for eradication of the poverty in their areas.
He said the JKGB is playing an important role for solving the basic problems of the people. For this purpose, the people should approach the financial institutions working in the district in groups and the farmers clubs should be formulated so that socio-economic condition of the villagers should be developed the financial inclusions.
The chairman JKGB informed that 180 farmers clubs are being setting up by the bank. So far 38 are being made functional, 8 are in the Kupwara district. He said that 95 villages have been identified by the bank for financial inclusion through the self help groups.
