AI to release 70-page report on Kashmir today
Srinagar, Mar 20: International human rights watchdog, Amnesty International, will release a 70-page report on Kashmir on Monday.
The three-member AI team comprising Madhu Malhotra, Romesh Gopalan Krishanan and Bikramjeet Batra, which is currently on 7-day visit to Kashmir will release the report in which several recommendations have been made.
This will be the first report on Kashmir by the AI in the last 10-years. A two-member AI delegation had visited Kashmir from May 18-24 last year for fact-finding. They were expected to release its findings within six months, but couldn’t due to some reasons. Meanwhile, the separatist leaders, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Mirwaz Umar Farooq and Shabir Ahmad Shah have welcomed the AI report.
