Guv, CM greet people on Nauroz
Jammu, Mar 20: The Governor, N N Vohra and the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, have felicitated the people on the occasion of Nauroz.
In his message, the Governor observed that the festival had both cultural and religious significance. He said this important day was also observed as World Arbour Day. He emphasized the need to plant the maximum number of trees for preserving the environment.
Vohra hoped that this day would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message, Omar expressed hope that the day would herald a new era of peace and development in the State.
The Chief Minister also reminded of the significance of March 21 as the World Arbour Day and called for massive plantation across the State.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr Asgar Samoon and J&K Anjuman-e Sharie Shian President, Aga Syed Muhammad Fazlullah Al-Mosavi have also felicitated the people.
Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party Patron, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and President, Mehbooba Mufti, have also greeted the people.
In a statement, the leaders expressed hope that this occasion would mark the beginning of an era of peace security and happiness for the State.
