Khalifapora, Riyazat-Teng colonies in shambles
WE THE Srinagarites
WE the residents of Khalifapora and adjoining Riyazat-Teng Khanyar in Shahr-e-Khaas have several times appealed the local MLA and the divisional administration to get the colony lanes, by lanes and poor drainage repaired.
We have also been seeking up gradation of the important portion of lane (around a 100 ft) leading to Shiraz Cinema from our Mohalla. The work was left half way in 2004 and since then nobody bothered to restart it. Besides, the dilapidated road, waterlogging is another inconvenience faced by we the Srinagarites.
Pertinently the residents of this area offered their land in order to widen the narrow lane, which is 10 feet in width now. We offered this land without any compensation but this is unfortunate that our colony doesn’t have any sort of road connectivity, thus no car can enter our area.
God forbids in case fire breaks out in the area, the fire brigade cannot enter the colony. So we want to have an approach road from Shiraz Cinema side wherefrom there’s every possibility of road connectivity.
The government had a plan to construct public park on Kakasar land but that too was never picked up. Had the park or community hall for facility of two Mohallas been constructed on this land then all the problems such as road connectivity, poor drainage and waterlogging would have solved once for all.
Under these circumstances, the Mohalla Committe once again requests the MLA Khnayar to look into the matter and pay an visit on spot to this ignored colony and get our prolonged grievances redressed by granting some money out of his constituency development fund.
