SMC consolidated employees seek regularization
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Mar 20: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation consolidated employees have appealed to the Chief Minister for the regularization of their services.
“We have been working on different posts from class IV to sweepers as consolidated employees in SMC for the past 13 years. Though former SMC Commissioner had ordered that consolidated Safai Karamcharies having served for seven years and more would be regularized, we are still awaiting regularisation orders,” consolidated employees in a statement today.
The SMC commissioner’s No: SMC/PS/Com/ 123-30 dated 27-04-2006, reads: “The consolidated Safia-Karamcharies, having tenure of seven years and more shall be considered for adjustment against vacant posts of Safai Karamcharis as provided under rules. The Assistant Secretary (P) will examine and put up a proposal along with other cases for submission to Government.”
Since the government under its No: HuD/Adm/50/2010 dated 25-02-2011 clearly states that SMC and JMC are the autonomous bodies, it within the purview of the powers of the SMC Commissioner to regularize the services of the consolidated employees having served the corporation for more than seven years.
The consolidated have sought the intervention of the Chief Minister into the matter.
