Opening of new Degree Colleges
PDP smells foul play
Jammu, Mar 22: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday took on the government for ‘ignoring’ the constituencies of Opposition legislators while sanctioning Degree Colleges in the state.
Before the start of Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly, the PDP legislators including Rafi Ahmed Mir and Abdul Gaffar Sofi were on their toes and said that the government, as per media reports, has sanctioned 12 new degree colleges in the state but the constituencies of Opposition were discriminated at the time of sanctioning of these institutions in the state.
Sofi said the government should make a statement in the house over the issue.
Leader of Opposition Mehbooba Mufti, while raising supplementary to a question on opening of new degree colleges every tehsil headquarters, demanded a degree college in Wachi constituency.
She alleged that the government was forcing people to come on streets by ignoring the constituencies of Opposition members.
