SLBC recommends 2-yr extension of special package for trade, industry

Jammu, Mar 24: The Sub-Committee of J&K State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) today recommended two-year extension to special package of concessions/relaxations to trade and industry in J&K.
In its meeting at J&K Bank Zonal Office, Rail Head Complex here today, the sub-committee after discussing threadbare the package scheduled to expire on 31st March 2011, recommended its extension for two more years.
A K Mehta, Executive Director/COO, J&K Bank, which is the convenor bank of SLBC, presided over the meeting, an official statement said.
It said consequent upon the deliberations made, the Sub-Committee unanimously decided to recommend to Reserve Bank of India that special package of concessions/relaxations to trade and industry in J&K be extended by a further period of two years.
The meeting among others was attended by Executive President, J&K Bank, Ajit Singh, presidents Tafazal Hussain, G M Sahibzada and members of the Sub-Committee including RBI, SBI, PNB, UCO Bank, SIDBI, IDBI, president, KCCI, president, JCCI, chairman, FCIK, others.
Earlier, the representatives of trade & industry strongly pleaded that the special package be extended for a longer period. They also demanded that the existing package be reviewed and made relevant to the ground situation.
