Conference on ‘evidence based healthcare’ begins at SKIMS
’40 RESEARCH PAPERS TO BE PRESENTED’

Srinagar, Mar 25: To generate ideas in meeting the challenges of healthcare delivery in the 21st century and share the expertise on wide range of hospital and health services, more than 300 renowned clinicians, scientists, administrators, medical teachers and nursing administrators are coming under one roof during the two-day National level conference “Evidence Based Healthcare” beginning on Saturday.
During the meet organised by the Postgraduate Department of Hospital Administration, SK Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, 40 research papers would be presented by the doctors and scientists.
“Out of 300 registered participants, 150 are from other states while the rest belong to Jammu and Kashmir,” Head, Hospital Administration & Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr. (Professor) S A Tabish, told Greater Kashmir, adding the registration for the conference would be also held in wee hours on the inaugural day.
He said some of the participants had started arriving from Wednesday. “The conference will host luminaries in the field of medicine, hospital architects and experts in Biomedical equipment from All India Institute of Medical sciences, New Delhi, PGI Chandigarh, Tata Memorial Institute, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and others from reputed health institutions,” Dr Tabish said.
“The conference is a unique event in the sense that it targets on one hand all eminent experts and policy makers in the field of healthcare and medical technology and on the other provides a fine meeting ground for manufacturers and buyers of the sector,” he said.
Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah will be the chief guest while as Medical Education Minister, R S Chib, will be the guest of honour.
