Baramulla residents receive muddy water
ALTAF BABA
Baramulla, Mar 26: The residents of Baramulla town have complained of receiving muddy water from the past several days.
“We have been forced to drink impure water as the concerned department has failed to take any action on the issue despite our repeated pleas,” the residents said adding some persons were taken ill after consuming the tap water.
The residents of Dewan Bagh, Kanli Bagh, Sangri Colony and Noor Bagh said the concerned authorities had failed to clean the water reservoirs in these areas. “The reservoirs have become filthy due to accumulation of dirt and other material,” they said.
When contacted, the Executive Engineer PHE said, “The cleaning of sump at civil lines areas will be started soon. We have cleaned the filtration plant in old town recently. The water reservoirs in civil lines areas will be also cleaned,” he said.
