JK Bank opens branch in Shopian
Srinagar, Mar 26: In its endeavour to further maximize its outreach in geographically remote and hitherto unbanked areas, J&K Bank today dedicated a business unit to people in Turkwangam, a remote apple-rich hamlet in district Shopian.
M A Khan, Bank’s Vice-President & Zonal Head for Kashmir South did the inauguration in presence of respected citizens, bank officials and officers of the district administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Khan described the ongoing streak of branch openings that the Bank has undertaken, a part of Bank’s strategy to take the benefits of banking to remotest corners of the state.
“Bank’s strategy is to bring all the unbanked areas into the fold of banking in order to act as a catalyst in peoples’ urge for economic empowerment”, Khan said.
