Wages of PHE GL workers hiked
Jammu, Mar 27: The government today conceded the much awaited demands of increase in the wages of Ground level workers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) from Rs 500 to Rs 3300 per month from April this year.
"The Government has conceded the long pending demand of the PHE ground level workers by enhancing their daily rate remuneration from Rs 500 to Rs 3300 per month which would be applicable from April this year," the Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture Sham Lal Sharma said while addressing PHE employees in Akhnoor.
He said that the issue of their regularisation is under the active consideration of the Government and was likely to be finalised soon.
Asserting that ground level functionaries of PHE department are vital organs for managing various Water Supply Schemes (WSSs), Sharma said that the Government was committed to safeguard the service interests of this important work force.
