Srinagar, Mar 2: From cosmetics to expertise, this beauty salon promises everything of international standards right here in this summer Capital. Grandeur, The Beauty Salon inaugurated Wednesday comes with a slogan of making the women look: Simply Beautiful.
 With the start of Grandeur, Chowdhary Group, state’s prominent business house, forayed into the beauty markets.
 The beauty salon at Jawahir Nagar was inaugurated by the Chowdhary Group heads -Showkat Chowdhary, the Chairman, his Managing Director son Baber and some other close family members.
 But upkeeping the tradition of Kashmir’s conservative society, the father-son duo didn’t enter the parlour premises terming it an “exclusive territory for the female folk”.

THE GRANDEUR
 After cutting the red ribbon at the entrance of the tastefully decorated salon, the hosts requested the mediamen and other guests for a briefing at the Hatrick restaurant.
 “Such salons are the need of the hour but then we equally want to uphold our very delicate fabric of values and ethics,” Showkat Chowdhary flanked by Baber said while talking to the mediamen at his Raj Bagh restaurant.
 Baber said: “Grandeur is surely going to revolutionize the concept of hair styling, hair care, hair treatments e.g. rebounding, hair spa… We will provide international methods and expert advice for hair styling, care and coloring which will suit one’s persona and lifestyle.”
 He added: “Internationally trained team of hair stylists, Make-up artists, Skin experts, Beauty experts, Manicure and Pedicure experts will be available for the customers.”

FOOT SPA THERAPY
 The Grandeur, Baber said, has introduced Foot Spa Therapy, which is a kind of stress reliever.
 “It enhances blood circulation, helps in cell activation, and relaxes body,” he explained.

TRENDY PRODUCTS
 Grandeur promises use of reputed cosmetic brands like L’Oreal Professional, L’Oreal INOA, Schwarzkopf, Chambor, Mac and Plinique.

BEAUTY AND THE FEAST
 Spanning over 2000 square-feet area with state of the central heating and air conditioners, the salon ships with a fast food facility for the customers.
 “If feeling hungry while waiting for the turn one can order snacks from Hat-Trick’s snack counter,” Baber says.

MEMBERSHIP OFFERS
 For the benefit of the customers, the salon offers a variety of membership schemes of Platinum, Gold and Silver Packs.
 “Customers opting for Platinum Pack have to deposit an annual fee of Rs 1000 to avail the following benefits. (A) Membership card (B) Discount of 10% on bill amount (C) Six free Manicures OR Pedicures in a year (D) One free meal voucher of Hat trick Restaurant Rajbagh (E) Travel Bag,” the company said.
 Similarly, customers opting for Gold Pack which comes at a membership fee of Rs 500 offers a discount of 7% on bill amount, Free Birthday or Anniversary Cake and a travel bag.
 The Silver Pack at Rs 200, a year offers a discount of 5% on bill amount.

The background
The Chowdhary Group is a leading business house whose ventures include Baber Enterprises, Alpine Associates and Chowdhary Educational Trust.
Pertinently, even though there was a recession in the Kashmir markets during last summer unrest, the company didn’t sack any of its employees.
“Though there was no business, we found it our duty not to relieve any of our 500 odd employees,” Showkat Chowdhary said in reply to a question.
