Dir Handicraft gets nod to issue export registrations

Srinagar, Mar 2: In a significant development, the Directorate of Handicrafts has been authorized to issue registration-cum-membership certificates to exporters of handicrafts and handloom products from J&K.
The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) today in a statement hailed the decision while maintaining that it was “because of chamber’s persistent efforts that the department has been authorized to issue such certificates.”
The chamber said: “After vigorous persuasion with the ministry of Commerce and Industry, government of India, the KCCI has succeeded in getting the nod for the Director, Handicrafts, J&K to issue registration-cum-membership certificates in case of exporters of handicrafts and handloom products from J&K.”
“We feel pleased to inform our members in general and the exporters concerned in particular about this development,” it said.
