IGNOU convocation on April 2

City function at MA Road college

Srinagar, Mar 30: The 22nd Convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is scheduled to be held on  April 2 when a total of 1, 85, 468 students would be awarded with the Degrees/Diplomas, an official handout said adding the main function would be held at IGNOU headquarters, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi.
 “It would simultaneously be held at various Regional Centres across the country. The Convocation function at IGNOU headquarter would be telecast live through EDUSAT/Gyan Darshan channel. The function of Regional Centre Srinagar would be held in the auditorium of Govt. College for Women, M. A. Road, Srinagar where 1821 students are eligible to be awarded with the Degrees/Diplomas certificates,” it added.
 Regional Director, IGNOU’s Srinagar centre Dr Mirza Nehal A Baig said: “The learners who have applied for attending the Convocation function at Srinagar are requested to report at the venue at 10 am. Awardees are requested to compulsorily bring their IGNOU Identity Card when they come for attending the Convocation.”
 “A sum of Rs. 100/- has to be deposited as a security for scarf, which shall be refundable on the return of the scarf. Degrees shall be issued to the students only on the production of the Identity Card issued by IGNOU. In case the recipient has lost their Identity Card they should get a duplicate one issued by the Regional Director,” he added.
