‘Govt upgrading horticulture infrastructure’
Jammu, Mar 3: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma informed the House that Government is keen to upgrade the infrastructure in Horticulture across the State to provide better marketing facilities to the growers. Replying to a question by Subash Chander Gupta, he said the fruit and vegetable mandi at Kathua would be functional within two months. He said that the department also contemplates establishment of Apni Mandis at Hiranagar and Bani for which the case for transfer of state land is being pursued. He said in Doda, 30 kanals of land have been identified for establishing the mandi. The Minister said establishing such mandis, the fruit and vegetable of these areas would be provided marketing facilities at the doorsteps.
