‘Govt willing to bring judicial officers under 6th Pay Commission’

Jammu, Mar 3: Minister for Finance has said that the recommendations of Padamna Bhan Committee constituted by Supreme Court regarding pay revision of judicial officers have not been implemented in the state as the case was subjudice.
Replying to a question by Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Rather said the State Government has filed application before Supreme Court seeking exemption of its order dated May 2010 in respect of J&K regarding the recommendation of Padamna Bhan Committee.
He said though the State Government had decided to implement the sixth pay recommendations in favour of the judicial officers but the Law department as well as delegation of the judicial employees asked to wait till the outcome of the case in the Supreme Court so that appropriate decision could be taken in the matter.
Replying to the supplementaries of M. Y. Tarigami, Harshdev Singh, Rafi Ahmad Mir, Jagdish Raj Sapolia and Ch. Zulfikar Ali, the Minister assured the members that the case would be vigorously perused.
