Tral shuts against arrests

Tral, Mar 4: A complete shutdown was observed here in this South Kashmir town of Pulwama district on Friday against the arrests of youths on the charges of stone pelting.
 Shops and other business establishments remained closed while traffic was off the roads. Schools and offices also witnessed a thin attendance.
 Police had on Thursday arrested several youth from the town on the charges of stone pelting and enforcing bandh in the town. The town had also observed shutdown on Thursday against the killing of a local militant in an encounter with forces in Dadsara village.
 Thousands of people had participated in the funeral procession of the slain militant amid pro-freedom demonstrations.
